8mm & Super 8mm film
At Paradise Corner, your film is handled with the utmost care and transferred direct to digital using a state of the art digital film scanner. Many transfer facilities simply videotape your films as they are being projected either on a screen or through a mirrored film transfer box. This process usually results in soft, poorly exposed images and often the video has an annoying “flicker” due to the different frame rates used for 8mm film and video. The digital film scanners at Paradise Corner use a sprocket-less drive system that gently transports the film past a high definition (HD) camera that scans every single frame and puts them together in an image sequence. When the roll of film is completely scanned, the resulting image sequence can then be exported as either a standard definition (SD) or HD digital video. This process results in stunning, sharp, flicker-less digital video that is the truest representation of the images captured on film all those years ago.

- 2 Custom labelled Blu-ray discs with cases (additional Blu-ray copies $10 ea.)
- 1 Blu-ray image file (.iso) file (to create additional Blu-ray copies on your own)
- 1 Digital HD .MP4 file (for viewing on computer/smart TV)
- On screen titles with chapter points (client must provide info for titles)
- All original, unedited film captures for archive and future editing purposes saved to external hard drive (external hard drive can either be provided by client or purchased from Paradise Corner)

NOTE: Since the native aspect ratio of 8mm film is 4:3 (almost square) and HD is 16:9 (rectangular) there will be black bars on the left and right of the screen (Pillar Box) when viewing on a widescreen HD TV. Regardless of whether you have 8mm film, videotapes or slides, Paradise Corner conducts all transfers in house with the utmost care. We are committed to protecting and preserving your treasured memories. If you live in the Grey and Bruce County area, we offer free pick-up and delivery on all transfer orders over $50.00 to ensure that your irreplaceable films and tapes never leave our sight. We also accept your materials via mail and courier service but highly recommend that you use a shipping method that provides a tracking number. If completed orders are to be returned via courier, shipping and handling charges will apply
